Baby Brenna turned 3 months old this past week! |
Hope you're anticipating a fun-filled Easter weekend! We are looking forward to having my Dad come down for the day on Sunday. He will be going to church with us and then coming home for an egg hunt and Easter dinner. What a wonderful thing to be able to celebrate the Gift from my Heavenly Father alongside my earthly father!
Saturday morning I put on this brown skirt to go do errands.
Once I was out, I realized it was a lot shorter than I'd like it to be (I like it to cover the tops of my boots---almost ankle-length) and that it was kinda drab, being just plain ol' brown.
So, I hit the fabric shop for some pretty embellishments!
I found this cute fabric and some crocheted lace. First I added a good four inches to the hem.
Then I made a pocket. I love pockets on my skirts---they come in very handy for the homeschooling homemaker!
What do you think? I love it!
I hope you'll join me for this week's Homemaking Linkup. I love to feature some of the neat posts that are linked up so please make sure and put my button or a text link on your blog so you'll be eligible to be featured! There were posts both last week and this week that I really wanted to feature but didn't because there was no back link.
Here are some of my favorite posts from last week:
Callie from Callie's Crafts showed off this awesome headboard redo that she did. I think she did a beautiful job and I really appreciate that she made her instructions so clear. I want to do one---thanks, Callie!
Thanks to everyone for the great posts!
Now for the linkup. Please remember to return the favor by adding my button or a text link to your post. Have a great weekend!
Hope In Every Season is on Facebook! If you like what you've read here, please follow me and keep up with the latest posts.

Sarah, I just linked up and made a boo-boo! The #40 should be 'Running the Race'. If you'd change it (if you can) I'd be so grateful! Thanks you, dear Mama!
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt! I wish I were more handy when it comes to sewing. I've also been thinking/praying about the idea of wearing more (or maybe exclusively) skirts...but my hubby's not on board with the idea.
ReplyDeleteI linked up a couple of posts. Thanks for the invitation :)
Sarah, your baby Brenna is adorable! Thanks for hosting and have a beautiful Easter weekend with your family.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi

Pockets are ALWAYS good for a busy mom! I love brown and the coral/pink color is such a pretty contrast!
ReplyDeleteBrenna is such a precious little dolly. What a blessing (and all your children) she must be to you! Thank you for hosting today! :)
That skirt turned out beautiful! I love long dresses. As a child I felt like a princess to feel the fabric swishing across the tops of my feet. More and more I'm trying to be practical and make them a little shorter, (right above my ankles) but yesterday I had a long dress on again and well I felt like a little kid playing princess again :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the link-up and I love your skirt make-over! Very pretty! My daughter and I have started a new blog together and we would love to have you stop by.

ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful! It looks like something even my unsewing skilled self could do! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing on The Creative HomeAcre Hop!
ReplyDeleteHope to see you again this Sunday!

Cute idea!! I love brown but since it is spring that is a nice 'take' on brightening up a brown skirt.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this idea on WholeHearted Home."
