God's glory has two aspects...inherent - only God has this...it is his by virtue of who He is. The other is ascribed glory. This is what the Bible refers to when it speaks of giving God glory. Obviously, we cannot give God glory in the sense of adding to His glory, any more than we can give Him strength. However, Psalm 29:1 urges us to recognize God's glory and acknowledge it.
Anyway, that's what I studied just this morning about glory. Thanks for bringing it back to my mind and for linking this post up at Think Tank Thursday.
www.saving4six.comCarriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14059400384913025309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-553871403635498898.post-64485743235247126392013-02-18T22:37:40.035-06:002013-02-18T22:37:40.035-06:00I once read/or heard somewhere (I'm not sure w...I once read/or heard somewhere (I'm not sure where...) that glory has differing definitions. God's glory is almost undefinable for our human thoughts. I've thought that one version is the idea that when we (the created) are being all that God fully created us to be then we are giving Him Glory. He is Glorified because we are doing what we were intended to do. I suppose it might be a case then for all creation; the redwood tree is glorifying God by growing the way it was intended to grow. And so on. Humanity can choose to not be who it was intended they do or be so we can falter at this. Does that make sense?
Sorry, I wrote a book. Great discussion starter. :)You got my wheels turning.Gretchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01945064438064932259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-553871403635498898.post-26806687630176557692013-02-18T17:20:03.950-06:002013-02-18T17:20:03.950-06:00Wow...what is glory?
