Doll Dress Origami: I Actually MADE something I pinned on Pinterest!!!

My good friend and seasoned Pinterest pinner, Audra, told me this about Pinterest last night as I was lamenting the fact that I keep pinning and never creating:   "Pinterest newbies - pin, pin, pin, pin - repeat excessively. Pinterest regulars - pin, try something, pin, pin, try something, go about life, pin, try something..."

So, as my official graduating act, I am pleased to announce that I've actually MADE something that I saw pinned on Pinterest!  These little dresses were in a tutorial by Dreadlock Girl

I was commissioned to make a poster for our church to display pictures from a recent Women's Ministry event.  I had ideas forming in my mind all week long and, this afternoon, I began this (you can click the pictures to enlarge them):

Everything that's done with book pages is made from pages of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility.
I could just make those dolly dresses all day long!  How sweet!

Spring 2012 Giveaway Jubilee

Spring Giveaway

Jubilee
I am SO excited!!!  It's finally here!

It's giveaway time here at Hope In Every Season and YOU get to be a part of it!

Throughout the month of March, bloggers will be adding their giveaway posts to the linky tool below this post!  Do you have a giveaway to add to the list?  We'd LOVE to have you link up!

YOU are invited to enter every one of those giveaways---and tell your friends too!  This is a quarterly event and I'd love to see it grow to be the BIGGEST giveaway carnival in Bloggyland!

Here's the details:

1.  Take a button below to display on your blog.  This will remind you and your friends to come back and participate through the month of March.

2.  Decide if you'd like to be a "giver".  If so, get your post ready and link it up.  You can give away anything of your choosing: something handmade, homemade, purchased, re-gifted...  If you're not sure, ask me!  Please also decide whether you will send your gift just within your own country or internationally.  Either way is fine, but you'll need to clarify this in your giveaway post.  You don't have to follow the same timeline as I am---begin and end your giveaway whenever you want---just please don't link it up until you've actually opened it up for entries.  I will leave the linky open all month so late-comers are still welcome!

3.  Whether you are a giver, or just want to come enter all the great giveaways, be sure to come back throughout the month and join in on the fun!  Others will be listing their giveaways as the days go on.

4.  Please pass the word!  Most bloggers love a giveaway and this one could really be a blast if we get lots of participants!  PLEASE let me know if you have any questions---I'd hate for someone not to play just because you don't understand how it works!

Groundhog's Day and Homemaking Link-Up Weekend

This morning, my step-dad left some cookies on our porch.  Mom had written a note that said, "Happy Groundhog's Day, Love Grandma".  I read it to the kids and quizzed them about Groundhog's Day.

Me:  "Does anyone know what Groundhog's Day is?"

Michael (10): "A Chinese holiday?"

Me: "No"

Michael: "Well that's what Lynzie said!"

Lynzie (12): "Oh, maybe it was Japanese."

Me: "No."

Lynzie: "Well it's SOMETHING."

Michael: "A day that has something to do with groundhogs."

Me: "ha ha ha"

Michael: "A day to RESPECT the groundhog."

Me: "no."

Cainan (7): "A day to give each other cookies?"

I'm SO very excited to announce my Giveaway Jubilee for the month of March! Would you like to participate as either a giver, a winner, or both?  Click my adorable new button for all the details!

And...now it's time for this week's Homemaking Link-Up Weekend!

Would you like to participate in the party each week but just can't remember to link up?  There's a couple things I can do to help you out with that!  First, there's a cute button at the top of my sidebar that you can put on your blog to serve as a reminder for you---and an advertisement for me!  Secondly, I can send you an email reminder!  I send out a short email to participants who've requested one on Wednesday nights to remind everyone about the party.  Please let me know in the comments below if you'd like me to do that for you!

I'd love to have you link up your homemaking posts below!  Hope you have a GREAT weekend!
