Need a fresh dessert idea for an upcoming picnic or party? These fruity brownies are fun and flavorful---plus, you can customize them any color or flavor you desire!
Sometimes it's in the greatest disasters that we find awesome new treasures. That's what happened to me today as I was working on a idea that I thought would be just perfect. At first, I thought my idea had ended up being a disaster---but then it occurred to me that I'd just created some super wonderful Fruity Brownies!
These are really simple to whip up and, because they use easy-to-find ingredients, you can change up the colors and flavors however you'd like. I used orange and lime for mine. You can also choose the texture. Use the flavored drink mix for the denser, chewier brownies with the fuller flavor, or try the flavored gelatin for the thicker, lighter-tasting, cake-like version.
What fun flavor combinations can you come up with?
Fruity Brownies
16 oz. boxed pound cake mix
1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 eggs
2/3 c. water
(2) .15 oz. envelopes flavored drink mix OR (1) 6 oz. box flavored gelatin mix
Heat oven to 350ยบ. Grease a jelly roll pan (or line with parchment paper). Mix all ingredients on low for 30 seconds and then on high for 2 minutes. Bake for about 20 minutes or until done through. Use the flavored drink mix for the denser, chewier brownies with the fuller flavor, or try the flavored gelatin for the thicker, lighter-tasting, cake-like version.
