Good morning! Welcome to the Homemaking Party!
Today I'm sharing my newest site with you, The Victorian Letter Writers Guild. I know many of my readers, like me, are fascinated by the Victorian era. Their senses of modesty, decency, and order required them to live in a way many of us desire to emulate today. If you enjoy handwritten correspondence with like-minded people, The Victorian Letter Writers Guild may be for you!
Some of the subjects I feature on the blog include,
- Creative ideas for designing extra-special correspondence
- Mail art techniques
- Historical information regarding letter writing, Victorians, etiquette, and more
- Quarterly pen friend exchanges
- Writing-related swaps and giveaways
I'm currently hosting a Summer Pen Friend Exchange. If you'd like to be matched up with a pen pal handpicked for you, submit an application and I'll find a Guild member just right for you to correspond with.
Also, be sure to check out my article on 5 Things I Didn't Know About Wax Seals.
Thanks for stopping by The Homemaking Party! I hope you're having a great week!
Wow, starting a new venture... and moving... and so many things going on! Whew. Thank you for hosting the party... it is appreciated and I hope you are feeling much better than you were the last time I saw it mentioned. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and peaceful gathering this is! Thanks for the welcome!
ReplyDeleteHow intriguing! I will check out the Guild -- I always feel kind of sad for this generation as they will probably never have the handwritten keepsakes we have from special times, dating, etc.
ReplyDeleteSarah, thank you for hosting. I'll come back tomorrow and add my Chocolate Bundt Cake and check out more links. I love handwritten letters and used to do a lot of handwritten correspondence, but it seems all my correspondents have gone over to email and so that is what I've done. Except for letters of condolence and other "special" things, I rarely write letters anymore. Sad, really. But I think you've inspired me to up my letter-writing game! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post, I love seeing old photos of Victorian times. Handwriting is not what it used to be. When I was younger we used to have pen pals.
ReplyDeleteLove that you started The Victorian Letter Writer's Guild, and can't wait to read the posts. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea. I look forward to reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
GG
Thanks so much for the party!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Debbie
