Homemaking Party: The Collers Are On The Move!

Welcome to the Homemaking Party! Tonight I've got some EXCELLENT news to share! My hard-working, self-sacrificing, wonderful husband has just accepted a job offer in NW Arkansas! He'll be doing software programming with a great, nationwide company. Can you imagine the fun I'm going to have going from the Pacific Northwest to the South? Ha!

We've got just a couple weeks to pack it all up and move our family of 11 over 1,800 miles across the country! It's going to be an adventure, for sure---and I'm SO looking forward to it!

It's short and sweet tonight---I've got packing to do! I sure appreciate every one of you who faithfully links up your creative posts and leaves sweet comments to encourage me. I'm excited to share this new chapter of our lives with you!

Thanks for linking up!

  1. Sarah, how exciting!! I will be praying for you in the coming days. It was just a short year ago that we had a quick move (3 weeks from when we found out to when we moved!), and I remember the amount of work with just 3 littles, and only moving a couple miles away! Blessings to you & your family!

  7. I think a move is always exciting but it involves a lot of work and also the pain of leaving loved ones and the joy of making NEW friends!

One of the things I do is make an inventory of whatever I am packing in the boxes. Having a master inventory list is very helpful.

Of course, it takes a little more time when you're packing but it saves you headaches when you're looking for something later, lol!

The smartest thing we did was setting the beds up right away. We had someone set them up and make them for us.

Of course, you can't always do that but it's nice to be able to fall into bed after a move, lol!

    Thanks for hosting today.

  11. I'm so thankful that the Lord is moving you and you are listening! The PNW, & the west coast,is being fried by radiation from Fukashima & it's only going to get worse. I'm praising Him for this. Woohoo!
